SALLY.
Medium/small 12 to 18 month old docked and un spayed bitch (came in to us in full season) she will require spaying around the end of February. Sally came to us very thin, extremely anxious and insecure. A foster home seemed the place for her, so off she went to "Gwen's". Six weeks later and with the help of Eos, Gwens own, 3 year old Rottweiler bitch, Sally's confidence has grown and she is now in tip top condition (on a raw natural diet). Sally is very sociable with other dogs, large and small and seems fine around cats. She loves the car, is very good on a lead, will sit and wait and is confident in traffic. A sweet Rottweiler with a lot to give, but, takes time for her to trust. Gwen say's she is a "great house dog".
Sally is yet another "pound" dog, picked up by the dog warden, wandering besides a main road and coaxed in to a shed by a local resident, to prevent an accident. Her "time" was done in an East Yorkshire locaal authority kennel. She struggled to settle into her environment, hence her over all condition when she came in. That is all the information we were given. |

BRUCE.
Medium size 4 to 5 year old, stocky, very handsome ,entire and docked male."Brummie Bruce" as he is now affectionately known, is just the loveliest chap. His tail never stops wagging, he adores everyone. Walks well on a lead, sits and waits, seems good with other dogs, large and small, male or female. Not cat tested. Bruce is happy in a car and confident walking in traffic. Such a nice dog.
And yes, Bruce, is another "pound" dog, picked up as a stray in South Lancashire, he was un-claimed and his time was up. We have no previous history. |

KELLY.
Medium/small 12 to 18 month old, possibly un speyed, very pretty bitch with a full tail. Kelly was a real "head case" when she came in to us, stressed out of her mind and unresponsive. Food was the only thing on her mind. She wrecked her bed and bedding and habitually "shadow chased". She was not used to a lead AT ALL, she also had signs of bites on her head and face and was painfully thin. What a challenge! Well things have improved enormously . With a routine, a natural diet (she's actually putting on weight), Homeopathic remedies for her stress, firm, yet sympathetic, handling and training and not least a sound male Rottweiler companion to share her kennel space, Kelly is actually starting to look happy! She loves to spend time in the house and it's obvious she knows how to go upstairs.
We can't, or don't want to, imagine what has happened to this bitch in her short life, other than her very traumatic capture, which involved the local police and a suggestion by them to TAZZER her as she dived under a car in her fear and panic. It took dog wardens with catch poles and patience to get her out. She was originally spotted, by a motorist, wandering along the grass verge of a very busy road and he feared for the dogs safety. We are confident she will make a good recovery. |

TARA.
WARNING-Please get a brew and your tissues before reading this one, it's going to take some time!
Upper medium size, substantial and mature, 7 year old, docked bitch. A lovely looking Rottweiler bitch, very fit and active. Another with a waggie, waggie tail, it is just going ALL the time. Loves people and is very confident around strangers. She pulled a little on the lead, more exuberance than anything, which is calming down now. No fear of traffic. Sits and waits. Is sociable with other dogs of the opposite sex and young bitches who are submissive. Not yet cat tested. Happily jumps in to the car and travels well. Tara loves human companionship. She came in to season just prior to Christmas (even though we were informed that she had been speyed!) so she will require speying towards the end of March.
Tara was handed over to a local branch of a "Royal" society, as the owners said their working arrangements had changed and they could no longer look after her. The orginisation decided she was dog aggressive etc etc and on the following Monday morning she was dropped off at a Vet's practice to be P.T.S. The caring nurses in the practice, found Tara to be not at all as described and could not justify ending her life. They got on to the internet and contacted Rottweilers in Need and we agreed to take her. Newcastle upon Tyne is a long way at short notice, so a hasty telephone call to R.i.N. supporters Andrea and Simon Coles and that very day they went accross to pick Tara up and took her to their home for a week. They then brought her down to Ferryhill, picking Mitzi up en route, to meet with Bill, another long standing volunteer, who brought both bitches down to the Midlands on Saturday 17th December 2011. We are so grateful of Andrea and Simons' efforts in assisting these two bitches. |

BELLE.
Medium size12 to 18 month old, very attractive bitch with full tail and little white bib. Belle is currently being fostered by our long time foster carers Marj and Geoff and she has their 3 year old, rescued Rottweiler bitch "Petal" and some "moggies" for company. Marj says she is one of the easiest to date and just settled in straight away. Belle doesn't "gush" over people initially but warms to them, gradually, in her own time. She walks fine on a lead and is generally obedient. Comes to her name and goes to "feed the ducks" every day and doesn't, now, want to eat them :-) She travels well in the car and is not worried by traffic. Has been around children and appears calm and friendly. Belle is a good house dog and would make an excellent companion.
A "pound" Rottweiler again.Picked up as a stray with a visible scar from a recent operation and the fact that her teats looked as though she had suckled pups, suggested that she had had a recent cesarean section. Inquiries where made around local Vets, but to no avail, so she must have been dumped out of area. No history again, just another sad case. |

JESSIE.
Medium size, 12 to 18 month old, very solid and substantial bitch with a full tail. Came in to season soon after arriving, so will need spaying mid March. She is a very confident bitch and is friendly with everyone. Is good with other dogs, large and small, except when she is out walking on a lead, then she "kicks off!". This is obviously a learned behaviour that her previous owners put up with and never addressed. This has only recently become apparent, when she moved out of kennels and in to foster care with Gwen. She is quite at ease with Gwen's own 3 year old bitch. Obviously this issue will be WORKED on. Jessie is not brilliant with cats. She travels well in a car and is confident in traffic. Jessie is fairly good on a lead, will sit and wait and go down. She will come when her name is called. She is a great Rottweiler and full of charecter.
Jessie is another Rottweiler that has come to us from a "pound", picked up straying by a local authority dog warden in the Warwickshire area. It was her wonderful temperament that stopped her being euthanised when her time was up. She survived 10 weeks in the "pound" before we were contacted. Again no previous history. |

MITZI.
Medium size 12 to 18 month old, very sweet, spayed (by the local authority kennel before coming to us) bitch. Mitzi is currently being fostered by "Tania" one of our Volunteers and she has slotted in with her pack of 2 Rottweiler males and an older female, plus a bunch of cats. She is very easy and extremely bidable, just fits in. Mitzi is very good on the lead, confident in traffic, sits and waits. Comes to her name, loves the car and is good in the house. When out she is sociable with other dogs, large and small. A little gem of a Rottweiler! I think we my have to prise her away from Tania!!
Mitzi is yet another Rottweiler to come in from a "pound. Rottweilers in Need took 6 in prior to Christmas, as it was becoming apparent that 2011 was to be "dump your dog for Christmas" and not leave it until after, as has been the norm of previous years. So, of course, no history. Mitzi had a rough time in kennels and whilst there she picked up a bad case of "kennel cough" which put back her speying by a couple of weeks and so delayed her trip down from County Durham to us. She was very under weight on arrival, not so now, she fairly gleams with health.

WILLOW.
12 moth old, docked and un speyed bitch. Came in to us due to a families tenancy agreement that banned dogs. Has lived with children, cats and chickens. Can be a bit lively and requires some manners. She is currently being fostered by Kim and has settled well with Kim's two Rottweiler bitches.
