Oakley's update
Well for starters, he's now called Crosby. He was fortunate enough to be adopted by a vet who has taken on board his expensive eye operation which is likely to cost up to £3K.
Our lovely readers have donated £600 toward this amount so if you would like to add to the pot, please do - just press the donate button and add Oakley/Crosby to the notes, we'll see it get to the right place.
His eye condition, in short he has had his appointment with the specialist and at the moment he is not showing any discomfort - no rubbing - or discharge and due to the possible need of a graft which will be uncomfortable and require long period of a Buster collar, the decision was made to use drops to keep the eye moist in case of the hairs causing wicking. This will give him more time to settle in and mature before doing the surgery - his adopter has paid the consultation fee and will pay any additional costs of the surgery over the £600 raised - estimate is £2000- £3000
As and when any further information becomes available, we will post it here. Good luck to all concerned!
